AARP Family Caregiving Resource Line
Use this resource for any caregiving-related questions you may have!

AARP Family Caregivers Discussion Group
This is an online platform where fellow caregivers can have a conversation: ask and answer questions, vent a little, and simply learn from and lean on each other.

This organization is a “Consumer-Directed Service Facilitation provider for Virginia Medicaid waivers” serving Virginians of all ages. They aim to serve those with disabilities or their caregivers about concerns such as the following:

Free Resources
Towards the bottom of the website, there is a place where you can subscribe to receive emails from NCOA. This will allow you to discover even more resources intended specifically for caregivers.
This organization is the “Area Agency on Aging for Central Virginia. They provide “information, advocacy, and services to older adults, persons with disabilities, caregivers, and their families” in counties including the City of Richmond, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, and more.

Home Delivered Meals
In partnership with FeedMore, Senior Connections will deliver hot meals to those who are unable to prepare meals themselves on a pay-what-you-can basis, so free of charge if needed.

Friendship Cafes
For those who are 60+, Senior Connections has various Friendship Cafes in the greater Richmond area. Your loved one would “receive a nutritious midday meal while interacting with good friends and participating in diverse activities.” These meetings “help fight social isolation in older adults by keeping them active and connected to their community.”
TeleBridges: A Telephone Reassurance Program
This program connects a volunteer with your loved one at home, making two to five calls per week to check in on them and offer a listening ear.

Ride Connection
In need of transportation for your loved one’s medical appointments? Senior Connections can provide round-trip transportation for up to two medical appointments per month. The criteria is as follows:

Communication Platforms
The links below are to online platforms which allow you to easily distribute information regarding your loved one to others, such as their care team or more family and friends. Now you can keep everyone in the loop with one quick message, hopefully returning some time and energy back to your day. Please reach out to us if you need any assistance setting this up!
Support Groups
Below are additional support groups for caregivers. They are easily accessible (free and online), you just need a Facebook account.
